and gite have been restored to provide every modern
comfort, while retaining all the charm of the original
stonework, wood beamed ceilings and stone floors.

canoe down the River Dronne, or visit the many interesting
attractions and picturesque villages.

This grand residence is located not far from Brantome, with
its famous abbey and lovely riverside walks, and also not
far from Bourdeilles with its 11th Century Chateau and
picturesque bridge over the river,
The main house features a traditional "pigeonnier" at one
corner and we're told the house is 400 years old. Both
houses have been restored and equipped to a high standard
with all modern conveniences.
The house and gite can be rented
together, providing accommodation for up to 10 to 12 people with
exclusive use of the pool and all facilities, or they can be
rented separately by smaller families and groups - see
House or
Gite.
Chez Denis is ideal for larger groups and families
holidaying together, but who do not want to be on top of
each other all the time.
There is a central courtyard between the house and gite
and each has its own separate patio area on the other side
of the property from the coutyard.
The house has a large covered veranda and barbecue area at
the rear with views over rolling fields and woods.
The gite patio area is south facing and has mature trees providing
plenty of shade for relaxing or barbecuing.
There is a 10m x 5m swimming pool situated close
to both the house and gite. It is fitted with an
automatic security alarm to provide protection for children
when the pool is not in use.
The garden covers around 5 acres of open parkland,
bounded by trees and fields, with specimen trees around
the two main houses, providing shade for those hot sunny
days. There is ample garden furniture
for barbecues or relaxing by the pool.
The surrounding countryside is green and attractive, with
rolling hills and many delightful walks from the door. It
is also wonderful cycling country and cycles are available
on request.
Only 15
minutes away is the picturesque town of Brantome,
with many restaurants, interesting shops, abbey and
riverside walks. Bourdeilles, also 15 minutes away,
is a picture-postcard village with restaurants,
interesting chateau, shops, boulangerie, patisserie, etc.
The nearest shop is 5 minutes away at Vieux Mareuil.
